That's me!!!! Sometimes I feel like all I do is to make appointments for everyone and then make them keep them. Between all our therapy appointments as well as all the doctors, kindergarten screening, kindergarten open house, preschool open house, family occasions and everything else....it is just going to be crazy around here over the next month or so! And rarely do all three kids need to go to the same appointment so that means making child care plans too. Fortunately my Mom and my SIL are very gracious about helping out, but sometimes you just have to drag everybody along.
So I just had to make dentist appointments for all three kids because they have to have a dental form filled out for school. And get this....they couldn't schedule anything sooner than...OCTOBER!!!! Yikes!

Editing to say.....
that I just realized that I didn't really tell you much about about ME! But I guess hearing about my family tells a lot about how I spend my time. But...I do enjoy reading, scrapbooking, talking about adoption, and singing...when I get the time!
Here I go!!!
Hey there!
Well, here I go, jumping into this new thing called blogging. Ha! I always wanted to be "hip!" Please be patient with me. It is a totally new thing for me and I am already having trouble trying to post a picture of myself. I always want to put a name with a face so posting a photo of me and my dear family was the first thing I wanted to do. Oh well! I will persevere though and will get one posted here as soon as I can.
I guess the first thing I should do is to tell you a little bit about myself. That way you have a little insight into our daily life. I am a thirty-something SAHM in Ohio. My husband Mike and I have been married for almost 12 years. [Wow! Hard to believe that!] Mike is a mechanical engineer. He works for a small company that designs and builds large brakes and other equipment....mostly for the mining business. Okay, I admit it....that's my short version of what he does. He could explain it a WHOLE lot better! Mike is also in the process of starting a new company....more on that at another time.
We have three beautiful children! All three were adopted from India over a period of about 3 1/2 years. Each experience was wonderful, yet excruciating! If you've adopted you know what I mean!
Noah was our first child home. We went to Calcutta to get him in October of 2000. He was 10 1/2 months old at the time. Noah is now 5 1/2 years old. He is a handsome, funny, and affectionate little boy. Noah has some developmental delays, mostly speech and gross motor skills. He also has some sensory integration problems. Noah will begin Kindergarten in the Fall. Noah likes to make pretend meals for all his little stuffed doggies and is a HUGE Veggie Tales fan! Junior Asparagus is his absolute favorite.
Grace came home next...November 2001. She was 16 months old. She just turned 5 last week and had a "Wiggles" birthday party. She is a special little girl, full of energy and spark. She told me that she would like to be a Wiggle when she grows up. I told her that would be the perfect job for her! Ironically, when Grace was born, she didn't make any sounds until she was a few months old. When we made the decision to adopt her we thought we might be getting a little girl with severe brain damage. But the Lord miraculously allowed her brain to heal and she has long since made up for the months of silence!
Samuel is our oldest, but was the last one to arrive. Mike and I traveled to get Samuel in February of 2003. He was 4 at the time. Samuel is now 6 1/2 years old. Samuel has Cerebral Palsy. It mostly affects his motor skills and his speech. He is able to commando crawl to get around the house, but not walk. He is a very bright little boy though. He can spell several words and can count. He also can spell and ALMOST write his name. He is a happy boy and has a contagious giggle! Samuel will also start Kindergarten in the Fall. Both boys receive different types off therapy and I'm sure I will share about those some time in the future.
So, as you can probably tell, my life is busy! But my family is a joy to me. Some days are difficult, but I rely on my faithful heavenly Father to see me through and give me the strength to run the race he has layed before me. It is only by His grace that I will finish the race strong!
Looking forward to blogging along the road of life!
